Dear Students and Parents,
Welcome
to or back to Theatrical Dance Arts Academy for the 2010-2011 dance year. I am
very excited and happy to have you dancing with us this coming year. Below you
will find the TDAA rules, regulations, and answers to any questions you may
have. Tuition __________ (for all
below) Tuition is due the 1st day
of every month. Your first payment will consist of August (2 wks.) and June (2
wks.) will also include your annual registration fee ($30). Any account paid
after the 5th of the month will have a $10 late fee applied. There will be
a $35 charge for any NSF checks. Company members will pay August (wks.) and
June (2 wks.) Tuition
is based on a monthly class basis. Tuition will remain the same if there are 4
classes, 5 classes or 3 classes per month. Payment
Options __________
(for all below) We
accept checks, MasterCard, Visa, money orders and cash payments. If paying by
check please include the students name on the memo line of the check and
your driver's license number. Checks are scanned and automatically voided
and returned to you for an automatic payment. Please note payments may be mailed
to Attendance __________ (for
all below) Attendance
is very important in regards to the development of each dancer and
the class as a whole. If you are going to miss a class please contact the
studio or email the studio (tdaadance@nc.rr.com)
to let us know. Your tuition will not be prorated. Please remember it is the
responsibility of the student to attend their class and reimbursements will not
be made. We do not prorate
for missed classes. Tardiness __________
(for all below) Once
the door to the dance room is closed a student who is tardy must wait for the
half way point water break before entering the dance room as to not disrupt the
class. Please arrive 10 minutes prior to class. Dropping
a Class __________
(for all below) If
you wish to drop a class you must give a 30 day written notice to avoid a one month tuition
charge. Tuition is non refundable. Studio
Closings __________
(for all below) TDAA
follows the Wake County Public School System calendar. We DO have classes on teacher?s work days.
If there is a cancellation due to weather a make up will be held. We do not
always close for weather when WCPSS closes. Cancellations will be posted on our
web site, by email, and a message will be left on the studio answering machine.
Conduct __________ (for all below) Lobby and Sitting Area *Do not run or "play". This is a business and
not a playground. Children
must be kept under control and be supervised at ALL times. *Do not shout, yell, scream or use loud voices. *Do not allow lobby area and back sitting area to become
noisy while classes are in session. If you have a sibling at the studio while
waiting for class and they become restless or begin to cry please take them
outside. *Do not wave, tap on, or talk through the classroom
viewing window (it will be open the first week of the month only). This is
a distraction to the students and the teachers. Please know that the curtains will be shut to ensure the full attention
of every dancer. Please be respectful to others in the lobby area and to
students and teachers in the classrooms. Hallway *There is to be no
food or drinks (including water bottles) in the hallway. *No personal belonging are to be left in the hallway. Locker Room *Please store all personal belongings in a locker. Do not
leave anything lying around. TDAA is not responsible for any lost or stolen
items. You may want to leave any valuables at home and only bring with you what
you need. Dance Rooms *No one shall be in a dance room with out a teacher present. *Only students and
teachers are allowed in the dance rooms unless invited. *There will be no food or drinks (including water
bottles) allowed in the dance rooms. *There is to be no gum chewing. *There is to be no talking while a teacher is talking. BE
RESPECTFUL! Costumes __________ (for
all below) There is a $50 (age 3-6) and $60 (age 7
and up) deposit per costume for non-competitive routines. This will be
deducted from the total price of the costume. Balance, if any, of costume will
be due by November 30th. Costumes will be handed out once they have
all arrived and only if it has been paid for. Parents will be notified to be at
the studio on this day. Children will not receive a costume with out a parent. Costume deposits are refundable
by written request until October 31st . Some
costumes will be ?store bought?. If this is the case a sample costume will be
purchased by the ?team mom?, the money will be collected and the costumes will
be purchased. Students
will be measured and costumes will be ordered one size ?larger? so there the
students have room to grow. Parents will be responsible for the restocking fee
and shipping costs for any costume that needs to be returned due to
dissatisfaction of the parent in regards to size. If it is a studio mistake
TDAA will take responsibility. Costume sizes will be discussed with parents
before being ordered. Recital __________ (for all
below) TDAA
has an annual Spring Performance in May. We are tentatively scheduled for
Saturday June 4, 2011 with dress rehearsal tentatively scheduled for Saturday,
May, 21, 2011. All students except pre-school will perform in both shows. There is a $35 recital fee per
student. Each student will receive 3 free tickets. Additional tickets
may be purchased. Studio
Pictures
__________ (for all below) Mandatory
studio pictures will be held a Saturday in April before the recital. Pictures
are mandatory for all students. You are not obligated to purchase. Dance
Attire __________
(for all below) Student
attire is very important. Everyone in class should have the same shoes for
unity. We do not want to have to paint or tape any ones shoes for the show or
have a mixture of different styles. Please follow the guidelines. Absolutely no
daily clothing is to be worn during any class (t-shirts, jeans, shorts,
sweatshirts, ect.). Hair
is to be neatly pulled back away from the face and SECURE. Combination
Classes-
any color leotard and tights, black tap shoes, pink ballet shoes (shoes may be
purchased at Payless) Tap-
Any
color leotard and tights or black jazz pants; black lace up oxford tap shoes Jazz- Any color leotard
and tights or black jazz pants or black boy shorts; black jazz booty or black
Bloch Super Jazz shoe. Lyrical- Any color leotard
and tights or black jazz pants or black boy shorts; foot undeez Hip
Hop- Students
may wear t-shirts but black biker shorts, capri pants, or black jazz pants, or
sweatpants. Children do a lot of floor work and sliding and can damage there
everyday clothing; teacher. Tennis shoes may be worn. Please
make sure all jazz pants are proper length and do not touch the floor. It is a
distraction to the student and affects their performance in class. Ballet- Black
leotard, tan, white, or pink tights; pink ballet shoes Adults-
have
no dress code to follow With
